Done with casualty postings

Finally the fifteen days of casualty postings got over. And it was a good experience in total. Though it was hectic, the only thing I hated there was the fights that used to happen when patients' attenders were told that no beds are available and the patient's condition is bad and they had to take the patient immediately to some other hospital. Had nice co-interns to work with and when you have nice colleagues, you can work anywhere!!Don't you guys agree? :) I learnt a lot of things in the 15 days of casualty postings that I never learnt in the 4.5 years of my MBBS life.

Message in a bottle

This is one thing that always and always amuses me. Its kinda got elegance.Even though it'll end up only as a show piece, it signifies somebody's love. Especially if you get it from somebody across the miles, it gives a feeling that it's come floating through the seas, even though u got it by post!!It takes you back through ages, for a few seconds or minutes maybe. And that's the best part I love about it.

If at all you want to gift this to somebody, let me tell you, it's very easy to make. Just take a nice glass bottle with a cork. Take a piece of paper and tea-stain it. Let it dry and then write ur note on it. It would be wonderful if u know calligrapy! Roll the paper and put it in the bottle. Add some confetti fillings like shredded paper or even rose petals and the like into the bottle. Pull on the cork and there it is, ready to send it to your loved one :) Im sure it'll end up being a great gift :)

One messy day

Nothing happened the way i wanted today:

1. I got up late.

2. I realised there was no petrol in my vehicle.

3. I was late to work.

4. Too many patients at hospital. ( That's not that bad anyways)

5. My friend who was supposed to come shopping with me had to quit.

6. I lost my ear ring ( It was a new one and it was something I wore for the first time today).

7. My phone fell again.

8. I searched the whole of D.D.Urs road and i couldn't one simple plain white top to go with the skirt i had bought for my birthday party. And now all my plans for the party are ruined!!!

9. I fought with my best friend. Actually, that fool fought with me.

10. All in all, I feel irritated and frustrated.

The First suturing I did

Hey, one more thing. I did the first suturing of my internship today :) I had tried 2 days ago on a kid who had a cut, but he was crying so much that I left it for the experienced to do it. And I did suturing for a lady with scalp lacerations today :) And I feel so good about it :)

Happy Birthday 'Anna' :-)

Hey it's 26/3 again :) And it's my brother's birthday :) Happy birthday Anna :)

I can't write on anything else today, because I can't prioritise anything over his birthday. And now that he's not in Mysore, I'm missing him a bit more :(. This guy is somebody whose been more of a parent-figure than a brother. I still remember all those days that we spent together. It just exists in front of my eyes as though it all happened seconds ago. I remember Myself running behind him whenever he was around. He was like an idol. From days before I went to kindergarten even, to this very present day, he's been there for me whenever I needed him. Though he was a cousin, we stayed together and he was here, and never ever ever did I feel that he was a cousin.

My first day of school, he and mom dropped me to school and when it was time to pick me up, I remember him coming to pick me up in his bicycle(He had this habit of meddling with things and so he had unscrewed his bicycle and then set it up again and as a result, it had cello-tapes all over :) ). He was always soft spoken and never used to get angry how much ever i run behind him. I used to love watching cricket with him and his friends even though i wouldn't understand a bit.The reason was that I used to get to be with him and I wouldn't get tired of it ever. And yeah, I was a kid then and all his friends used to pamper me a lot. Used to get chocolates and stuff :) When I understood a bit of cricket, we used to play cricket in the backyard of my house ( If u see my house ka backyard, you won't think that somebody can play cricket here!!) and my brother never used to get irritated to play with us kids. Whenever I used to bat or bowl, the ball would always go to the terrace or the neighbour's house. And when i turn to my brother, all he would do was give a smile. And I loved him for that.

It's not that he's never been harsh at me.I've got nicely from him when I used to escape from studying too, but then, all's fair when its him.

He got his first salary in his job here and then started all the 'branded goods ka fair'. He kind of stopped using anything thats not 'branded'!!! We all used to wait eagerly for Friday because he used to come home from Bangalore then. And then was our chatting sessions. We used to talk till really late at night. Talk about everything under the sky( We chat so much till date and my family wonders how we manage to chat 'so much' :) ). Our weekend pani puri and film sessions was something I used to wait for. I used to get a lot of gifts from him without any occasion- CDs, branded clothes, and lots more. But still, the best, was the time spent with him. He was one guy who was real fun :)

He got married and there was one more new member in the family. My Bhabhi :) And she turned out to be as much fun as him :) I still remember when he first got his VISA to USA, we went straight away to the 'pani puri gaadi' for his treat :) .

He came here 5 years after he went to USA (Thanks to the formalities of his green card thing!!!), and trust me, we all were so so excited that I bunked college completely for all the 3 weeks he was here. And we had loads and loads of fun.And I ended up crying when he left :(

I was a 10th standard girl when he left India and now, Im a Doctor. One important phase of my life, and he was not here. But Thanks to him, he never ever made me feel that he's far away. I always and always knew he was just a phone call away and it's still the same. He's somebody who always stood by me. I never have to think whether what I'm talking is right or wrong. I know I can talk whatever I want when I am talking to him. He never puts any unnecessary restrictions on me. He never loses temper and he does tons of things for me. He is somebody who can stand by me for everything I want in life and even fight with my parents for that.If I need to convince my parents for something they are not agreeing to, he's my only channel!! He's literally been my friend, philosopher and guide :) He's more than just a brother. He's everything. Not just me, he's the darling of everybody's eyes in my family and we all love him tons. He knows how to do good to 'EVERYBODY' and he's the best. All i can say about him , is "HE'S THE BEST ". And i feel so god-damn-lucky to have a brother like him.

Well, I've written so long, but trust me on one thing, this is just a glimpse of what kind of a person he is. He is far more better than what I've said here. :) I'm sure every single person who knows him will agree to this :).

Love you loads and loads and loads more anna :) May this birthday give u all the luck and joy and success today and all through the year :) Muaahh.. :) Keep smiling. Cheers :)

p.s: For all those who don't know my brother, he is Mr.Suchin or suchi as we call him. And for all those who don't know kannada, 'anna' in kannada means elder brother.:)

Aries Woman

A lot has been told about Aries and Aries women. And a lot of it has turned out to be true about 'The Ram'. I just am trying to add(?) a few traits of an Aries woman which I have observed over the period of years....

Have you just met a female, 'Classy and Elegant', with an instant smile, a firm handclasp and a warm hug? Well, You've just met and Aries woman :)

An Aries woman is very friendly. She almost trusts everybody. But once she gets to know that somebody is unworthy of her trust, that person can never ever win her trust back. If she doesn't like somebody, it clearly shows. She can't even manage to be cordial with that person. 'Forgive and forget' is not something that an Aries woman can do. She hardly forgives somebody who cheats her in any way.

An Aries girl is simple, innocent and emotional. And more than everything, she is somebody who can be called 'Classy and Elegant'. She will always and always want to be and wants everything to be 'Classy and Elegant'.

She is very independent. She can do things herself and she likes it that way. She loves to lead. She has to be the first one to do anything. She is somebody who loves challenges. Though she is strong at times, she can be as vulnerable as a baby.

An Aries woman is very honest. She cant lie. If at all she does, she'll feel so guilty that she'll end up coming up to you and telling the truth.

If you have had a bad dress day and you want to ask an Aries woman for an opinion, please don't!!! Because she is very frank and will tell you on your face that your looking a moron!! And Big mouths and gossip mouths and of the like - please beware of her!!!

When she has an idea or something she wants to get off her mind, she'll call you at four in the morning without a qualm. Why shouldn't you be awake to listen to her? She's awake. That's all that counts. She wants something. She gets it.
You will find her with n number of shopping bags.Few of which she would have bargained for such low rates that you wouldn't have ever thought of!! And few, would be so expensive that you would think that she has paid more than a fortune!!If she sees it and loves it, she buys it. She is very impulsive-be it shopping, saying things out or whatever.

She doesn't care what the world thinks of her. She does what she thinks is right. The only opinions she is bothered about, always and always would be of her family and friends. She doesn't go by any hard and fast rule about what is right and what is wrong. She decides it for herself.
Go out for a cup of coffee with her, and she will end up paying the bill many-a-times.She has a liberal attitude and at times, is lavishly generous. She doesn't mind lending money, or anything material, but she hates borrowing. She hates living in somebody else's money.

An Aries female can be moody too.You will find her to be the most chirpy girl in the world when she is in a good mood. And when she is in a not-so-good mood, you might as well end up thinking she is somebody mute!

An Aries woman is 'In Love With Love'. Its not necessary she should have a partner. She will always be yearning for that someone special in her heart, thinking about him in the monsoon and that will be her idea of romance. She doesn't need a real man for it.

To woo an aries woman, prove it to her that she's desirable. Be sincere while complimenting her. Being over-sweet and too much chasy will make her run away.

Be careful while dating her, because she is somebody who believes in fairy tales, miracles and forever lasting relationships :). So all you guys who are just looking around for a few flicks, please pity on the Aries woman and stay away from her. True that she too gets crushes pretty often. But she is sombody who lets the crush die very soon when she feels that it's not gonna work out.

When in a relationship, she is not somebody who is over possesive. She gives her spouse all the space he wants. But in case she finds something fishy, just know that the relationship is over. She goes out of her way to give you everything you want, and more. In return, she expects love too. She will be a die hard romantic, so much that every time there is a rain shower, she would love to dance with you, as though its the first time!!. Don't ever dominate her, and don't be a puppy too.She hates both extremes. She will always want a balance in the relationship. But most important,If your spouse is an Aries woman, you must remember that your woman always comes first. She'll always find reason to be proud of you. And she will be proud of you even if she doesn't find a reason. But do not forget to praise her for her talent too. She doesn't like doing anything for which she'll not be appreciated. If you want a loyal, supportive, tender, caring, yet independent and intelligent wife, then it surely has to be an Aries woman :) . And yeah, last but not the least, giving her your debit card just means an empty bank account!!. But don't worry, of the things she has shopped for, atleast 40% will be something for you ;)

p.s. : I love being an Aries Woman :)

One whole week of Internship passes by..

One week has passed by and I never got the time to write a blog entry. Do night shift from 8 pm to 8 am-come home-freshen up-have breakfast-go to sleep-get up and get fresh-have somethin to eat-run to hospital again. This was the routine. Oh I'm so glad casualty night shifts are over!!! But I had fun too. Actually, it just depends on the people who are working with you. If they are jolly people, you will have your part of fun :) And I did, except for some two days.

My first day was really something I'll never forget. Not because anything special happened, but just because it was 'The First Day' and I'm sure nobody will ever forget their first day. Lots of patients, my previous shift intern telling me that its too hectic while she was giving me charge, asking help and suggestions for almost everything possible, a brand new name plate with a white background (for those who are not from my college, medical students have name plates with black background and interns have those with white background) and more than everything, the feeling of hanging my steth over my neck for the first time!!It just felt WOW!! It was the transition day from a student to intern and the experience was nice. We just started so naive and tryin to find out as many things as possible. The only thing that I didn't like was that there was no proper duty doctors' room where I could relax and I was so very deprived of sleep..

The later days of my internship were actually better than the first day. A senior intern was posted and she was so much fun to work with. We had our share of ups and downs at work, but had fun too. The fact that she was around made problems so much easier to deal with. Really, I couldn't have asked for a better co-intern to start my internship with. She's finished casualty postings today and I'm gonna miss her for sure from tomorrow. Will miss you Nishika :-( and will miss your 'maja mari' and our 'musk melon juice' breaks :-) Wish I get such people to work with again!! At the end of the day, It feels great. The good feeling outweighs the problems :) and ya, Im still hoping things go well :)

Hope things go well :)

Starting internship tommorow... Oh wait.its past 12 midnight. So that means to say I'm starting internship today!!! And I already have two problems.
1-My tailor hasn't given my apron which I had given for alteration. So it made no sense that I bought new aprons. I am forced to wear an old one on the first day of my internship!!
2-I don't have my vehicle. It was given for servicing and I haven't got it yet. So have to go to hospital by auto tomorrow and I hate doing that.
Just hoping no more problems pop up!!

I finally cleaned my room and it looks so neat that I'm wondering where I am!!

My friend's given an interview and now he's trying to host a site which is just not ready to get hosted.lolz ;) I just wish he gets through..All the best Sid :)

Too tired to write on any topic, though I have topics in my mind to write about.. But then, my mind is pre-occupied with this internship thing and I'm just asking seniors how things will be. So once I get to understand something tomorrow, I'll get back to write other things :)

Have mixed feelings yaar. Excited, nervous, happy, and on and on and on. All in all, it feels great :) All the best to myself for my internship :) Hope things go well :)

I'm a Doctor at 21 :)

"I"m a 'Doctor' at the age of 21"!!! Feels great :) I must be telling that line to myself around 4-5 times a day. The first half of the sentence makes me feel good and the second half makes me feel younger :) Most of my classmates are 22 and odd and I'm 21. Well, I'll be 22 in a few days. So kind of enjoying this line until then :)

Last few days of hols and I'm trying to enjoy as much as possible. From monday, my wake up time would shift from 11.00am to 6.00am.. Thats's the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of internship :( Oh my god!!! Internship's starting and I wonder how efficient we shall be at work!! To top it all, I have casualty postings to begin with and I have absolutely no idea how I'm going to manage it!! And yeah, my stupid tailor hasn't given my apron yet :(

Had a real nice day today. Had been out with friends, was quite a bit on the phone too and met friends again :) Loved the 'milberry juice' at 'Just Gelato'.. But ya, one thing that's still pending is---I haven't cleaned my room yet :( :)

Altogether, Im going to bed satisfied with the day.And if history ever repeats, i just want history to have days like today :)
